Lucky Oaks

This year's early autumn photos begin at a stream in Virginia called Difficult Run, over a hill from the Potomac.

It's warmer here than on the river side, and bushes are wound up in vines.

At the top of the ridge, the canopy is still green.

 

Then the trail opens. (I took a winter photo here.)
